I chose the the photograph of the smoke rising from the buildings in the Lebanese capital. I chose this picture because I thought that the editing in this photograph was the most harmful. The picture was taken by Adnan Hajj in August 2006 after an Israeli air raid. Hajj added more smoke to the photograph and made the smoke look darker. He did this to make the destruction look more dramatic. I think that this manipulation is harmful because it misinforms the American public and could influence our views on the international issues.

I agree! I think the media can too easily manipulate images to effect our views on political issues!
I agree that Americans already have very skewed ideas of foreign countries. It is only harmful to misrepresent something like an Israeli air raid to make Americans believe something more serious really happened.
